Barcelona 3-0 Guangzhou Evergrande: Suarez hat trick seals Club World Cup Final

Luis Suarez made light of the absences of Lionel Messi and Neymar as his hat trick sent Barcelona into the Club World Cup final with a 3-0 win over Guangzhou Evergrande Taobao.
Neymar was only fit enough for the bench due to a groin problem and Luis Enrique's side was given further cause for concern when Messi was ruled out just hours before kick off with renal colic.
But Suarez seized responsibility for the European champion, pouncing on a rebound shortly before halftime to give Barca the lead before doubling the advantage with a well-taken second on 50 minutes in Yokohama.
Guangzhou rarely showed signs of a fight back and Suarez blasted home a penalty to complete his treble - the first in the tournament's history - on 67 minutes and secure the victory for Barca, which remain on course to claim its fifth trophy of 2015 in Sunday's final against River Plate.

Real madrid again fails to beat a big team

Benitez side lose 1-0 to villarreal on sunday to continue an impotent trend which has also seen it as a drop point to barcelona and Atletico.Things looked to be on the up. Madrid had strung together five straight wins since losing the Clasico at home to Barcelona last month, but Benitez side came unstuck again as soon as it faced another top team. After hitting eight past modest Malmo, Los Blancos were impotent in the 1-0 loss at villarreal.
It was a below-par performance Sunday - just as it had been in such games all season. Rafa's Real was embarrassingly beaten by Barca, could only draw against Atletico and also has lost to Sevilla and now Villarreal too. His team has been found out against the best - a lucky win at home to Paris Saint-Germain aside - and is now five points off the pace in La Liga.

Benitez's men started slowly at El Madrigal, found themselves behind after just nine minutes to a Roberto Soldado strike and were off the pace for the entire first half. And even though they were much better at the start of the second, poor finishing cost them. Madrid was playing catch-up and created chances through sheer intensity - but still seemed to lack ideas, and the soccer was underwhelming.

Court Gives Order To Freeze Nwankwo Kanu's Accounts

Federal high court has ordered all account belonging to formal captain of the super eagles, Nwankwo kanu to be frozen.  Kanu’s accounts and those of his company Hardley apartments anywhere and in any financial institution in the country have been ordered frozen. The accounts were frozen because of the ex-footballer’s inability to recover a debt of N924,788,754.56.
The order of the court was as a result of a debt recovery suit filed by AssetManagement Corporation Of Nigeria(AMCON) against the defendants.
In an affidavit sworn to by a Credit officer in the Directorate of AMCON, Mr Victor Igabor, and filed and argued by Barrister Niyi Olopade, the deponent averred that sometime between May, 2008 and 10 January, 2011 Skye Bank offered The Hardley Apartments engaged in business of hospitality located at Plot 46, Waziri Ibrahim Crescent, Victoria Island, Lagos, a loan of N520,457,000.
The loan was secured by a mortgage on the company’s three blocks of forty accommodation units with estimated open market value of N395 million as well as unconditional personal, joint and several guarantee of Ayoola Gam-Ikon and Nwankwo Kanu.
The defendants failed to repay the loan with the accrued interest despite repeated demands, consequent upon which Skye Bank Plc assigned the defendants indebtedness in the sum of N558,313,905.37 as at 1 April, 2011 to the AMCON as a toxic bank asset in line with the establishment objective of the said AMCON.
Mr Igabor averred further that, this development was communicated to the defendants by Skye Bank who admitted their indebtedness but praying that theassignment to AMCON be revoked.
The defendants’ indebtedness as at the 15th October 2015 stood at N924,788,754.56 representing principal and interest while interest is still running.
Consequently, Igabor contended that The Hardley Apartments is in the process of being dissipated, therefore if the application is not granted, Ayoola Gam-Ikon and Nawankwo Kanu could dissipate the assets of the company. It therefore urged the court to issue an interim order of taking custody of all movable and immovable properties known as Plot 46, Waziri Ibrahim Crescent, Victoria Island, Lagos.
It  also sought an order attaching the debt due from The Hardley Apartments as well as debts accruing from the defendants jointly and severally and freezing all accounts belonging to the defendants jointly and severally in any bank or financial institution in Nigeria.
The presiding judge, Okon Abang, while acceding to the request of AMCON, ordered that AMCON shall in the interim possess all the movable and immovable properties known as Plot 46, Waziri Ibrahim Crescent, Victoria Island, Lagos.
That in the interim the debt due or accruing from The Hardley Apartments as well as the debts accruing from the defendants jointly and severally and freezing all accounts belonging to the defendants jointly and severally anywhere and in any bank and any financial institution in Nigeria are hereby attached pending the hearing of this suit.
The matter has been adjourned for hearing.

John Terry is wrong: Nobody will fear Mourinho's fragile Chelsea

The Blues may have beaten Porto and the central defender may fancy their chances, but the Portuguese's team will not have any potential opponent quaking in their boots
LONDON —Four days ago Chelsea was humiliated, leaving the pitch bruised, battered and cowed by Championship title holder Bournemouth. Fast forward four days and Portuguese giant Porto has been beaten, and the Blues have qualified for the knockout stages of the Champions League.
Jose Mourinho’s men will not have shaken off the monkey on their back just yet – their loss to Bournemouth was the first time in Premier League history that the champions of the top division had been beaten by the champions of the second – but this performance at Stamford Bridge was cathartic, if not entirely convincing.
Stamford Bridge ached with nerves before kickoff, Porto’s fans making a royal racket and expressing the nonchalant confidence reserved for a team used to winning titles. Chelsea, at last, seems to have rediscovered that very feeling.
Diego Costa was the chief protagonist in the win, hustling, harrying, irritating, as he put himself about and made himself the nuisance that he was last season, when he netted 20 goals in 37 appearances in all competitions. He has scored a mere four this term, but did everything he could to add to his tally against Mourinho’s former club.
His first golden chance arrived in the first half when, having burst through, he found himself one-on-one with Iker Casillas, whom he also decided to kick when he had the ball in his hands earlier. His shot was weak, however, and rebounded off Ivan Marcano and into the net. Despite Maicon’s best efforts on the line, the goal was given. When your luck is in, those decisions are given.
Willian added a second in the 52nd minute, collecting a finely weighted pass from Oscar and powering on into the box before firing at Casillas’s near post. The former Real Madrid legend could not get down quickly enough, and the Matthew Harding Stand erupted.
Costa could and, indeed, should have added some sheen to the scoreline, thrice failing to test Casillas when clean through, but the job, by then, was done
